Smile

  1. It was so great to see so many photos of you and your life. You’re beautiful lady! I can’t believe so many things happened at the wedding, or should I say didn’t happen? My wedding was a freak show as well, but yours sounds a bit like a farce! Isn’t it great how we can have a great time, even with expectations being dashed left and right. The day flies by and then we just have memories and a marriage. Best to make the most of it and just enjoy. And keep our crazy side concealed, haha. So glad you got tagged for this.

    1. Hey Lyz, consider yourself tagged, if you are fine with the idea. I would love to see your many memories and the kind of things that bring a smile on your face.

Thank you for the lovely words. Can you imagine that things can go wrong in such a consecutive manner – like a house of cards?! Yet there we had the time of our lives as you rightly point out. I was going ballistic at point till one of my friends just took away my phone and reminded me to be the bride. You might get to see my crazy side soon 😛 xx

      1. Excellent… (in a Mr. Burns voice) And oh my, I’ll have to go through my photos and see what I can find and narrow down. I tell you what, digital cameras have made taking photos so much easier, but now I have thousands and thousands of them. So many flash drives… crazy.

  3. Ahh! I loved all of these photos, especially of you at your wedding! I could never see you being coy XD I do remember all the problems you had with your photographer and videographer, as I think you mentioned it on my wedding post. Lucky your friend from the newspaper stepped in and caught some amazing shots 😀
I really do love that photo of you on Pulpit Rock, it’s incredible, it definitely deserves to be your profile photo 😀

    1. Thank you Angela 🙂 That photo is special. That entire trip makes me yearn for it all over again. A climb I would not mind undertaking a second time.

You do remember 🙂 The panic at that particular moment! Just is a life lesson for me about letting control slip during certain situations and moments. Let others take over xx

  7. Could you guys be any cuter together? Nope, no way. And you looked STUNNING at your wedding. I love Indian clothes (I’m kind of ignorant, can I call them that) and I think they are so classy and princess like. You were just so beautiful, I have no words. I’m sorry a few things went wrong on your wedding day but you know, if I’ve learned anything from Sex and The City is “The worst the wedding the better the marriage”. ❤

    1. You quote from Sex and the City. See this is why I love you. Wiser words were not uttered, Cheila my love. It was akin to a farce, as Lyz helpfully pointed out. But it turned out alright because our family priest was a hoot. People have depths within them. You often have no idea about that little fact till you are in the middle of a situation. Priests are usually yawn-inducing. I was surprised and relieved in stages that we had escaped that fate. Thank you for the kind words about the wedding look 🙂

Later that night, half my hair fell off. The price you pay for back brushing and stuffing an inordinate number of clips to hold a bun in place. It was also delightful to hear Adi shriek when he saw my hair stand in a huge halo around my head and then proceed to call me ‘Manjulika’. A reference to a movie where the woman is possessed. Here’s what I mean:

      1. hahahaha your husband is the best 🙂 Catholic priests are often funny. I was at church once and the priest was presenting two missionaries. One of them was quite… round. The priest said “I’m introducing them so you can see they’re real, flesh and bone. Well, mostly flesh with this one” Knowing me, I cracked up at the church, while my mother told me to shut up, trying not to burst into laugh herself.

      2. You can hug the priest if you are familiar with him, and give him two kisses. Growing up there was this nice priest who rode a bike. He was really could and funny. He did a beautiful service at my grandfather’s funeral, I cried so much. Anyway, he was super cool but he would always mistake me for my sister and vice-versa, which is weird because he baptized her, was there for both our first and second communions, etc. Also, for about 20 years he thought my name was Jessica.

      3. The nice priest sounds adorable. Someone who could call a Cheila Jessica half her growing up years deserves a tight hug. Why I believe he lived in his own little world and such individuals are precious. But he did make up for that by his lovely service for your grandfather as you said. Are you in touch with him?

  8. This post made me smile all the way through it. Your wedding story is one of a kind, I thought it was really funny (in a way) and something it would happen to me. Continue smiling, and sharing these beautiful moments with us!

    1. Thank ye Virginia 🙂 I do hope it does not happen to you…the stress and the things going awry. If you do however, you will find a way to deal with it I know. Women are good with handling most every situation in life 😉 But the happiness and craziness of it, absolutely! xx
