The Spell of Halloween

  1. This reminds me of a day many years ago when I inadvertently locked my wife in the basement and didn’t realize it for half an hour or so. To make matters worse, there was an opera singer rehearsing in the ground floor apartment — a soprano, and she can’t stand sopranos.

    1. Now that I have had two glasses of Malbec pizza (all that wine and cheese had to calm the nerves), I could laugh aloud (thanks!).

How on earth did she survive banging on the door, with opera for background music?!

I shudder to think what happened after, when she eventually found her out.

    1. Oh I am so glad you gave Christine and the Queens a go. And cheers for indulging my rants and rambles! 🙂 xx

  2. That was a good read Dippy, I could understand your frustration ..although must say being in a meeting with earphones ,it must have been difficult to get the better half’s attention:).We had good weather for trick or treating for Halloween as well .You made good use of it for your run!

    1. Adi says you are kind. 😛 I am not yet in the frame of mind to excuse him!
The run cleared the cobwebs of my mind, as it always does. And given me a glimpse of the crazy ones about town. So I am not complaining. Hope you had a fun evening. xx

    1. And righteous indignation at my wrath after – ‘Why on earth would you step out without your fob (phone and wallet at other times)? How is this my fault?’

I can laugh today too. 🙂

  3. Cute post! That’s a gorgeous sunset pic. You know, we actually had only one knock on the door this year. We generally only get maybe two in our building. Young couples, single professionals, and retirees are the majority of our residents. Unfortunately, we actually forgot to get candy this year and had no reasonable substitute on hand. 😦

    1. Thanks 🙂

You did get a knock though. Yoohoo. We got none because the building has to let kids in. With no candy to dispense, did you do a Rachel? 🙂

  4. OMG the situation was making me angry for you! I’m glad you got in eventually and is it too early to say how much the line about him not getting lunch made me laugh?

    1. Hey Pam, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. 😉 Thanks for the words, my lovely, but I did feel rather nasty later about denying him lunch. Hope you are having a good weekend. xx

  5. Oh my gosh, I would panic! My husband hates it when I panic. What happened to the glass bottle? Poor Adi! Poor You! Anyway, I too would have loved it if Halloween was at least on a Thursday or Friday. 🙂

    1. Hah rest assured the glass bottle went back into the recycling bin. It was not cracked on Adi’s pate.
Trust you are have had a good start to November, Amor. xx
